The short version

SwipeThisCard was built so there would be nothing here to write. There is no account, no server, and no tracking in the app. This policy exists mainly to say that plainly, and to cover the one thing on this website that does collect something: an email address, if you ask us for one.

No accounts No bank connection No analytics SDKs No ad trackers No data sold, ever

What the app stores

Everything you enter into SwipeThisCard stays on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, syncs through your own private iCloud account — the same way Notes or Reminders does. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or can read this data.

Never collected, under any circumstance

Full card numbers, CVVs, or PINs. The app never asks for one.
Bank logins or account credentials. There is no bank connection of any kind.
Your current balance. No screen shows one, no field stores one.

What you do type in

Last four digits of each card, so you can tell them apart.
Statement dates — the day anchors your issuer prints, so the app can count float.
Static card facts you choose to record — annual fee, credit limit, rewards category — the same facts printed on your card’s own terms page.
A typed statement balance, only if and when you type one in, dated to when you typed it.

The one network call the app makes

SwipeThisCard periodically fetches a read-only catalog of public card-rewards data (categories, published rates, sign-up terms) so common cards fill themselves in. That request carries no information about you or your cards — it only downloads the catalog. Everything else in the app works fully offline.

What this website collects

This site is a set of static pages. It does not run analytics, does not set tracking cookies, and does not fingerprint your browser.

The two buttons inviting you to join the TestFlight beta or ask to be told at launch open a pre-addressed email in your own mail app. If you send that email, your address and whatever you write land in our support mailbox at hello@swipethiscard.com and go onto a plain list we keep ourselves — used only to reply, to invite you to the beta, or to tell you when the app ships. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to an advertising or analytics company, and we do not use it to work out anything else about you. Ask us to delete it and it is gone the same day. [If a hosted sign-up form replaces the email links, this section will be rewritten to name the service that processes the address before that form goes live.]

Who else sees anything

Apple — iCloud sync (if you turn it on) and App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple, under Apple’s own privacy terms. We never see your iCloud data or your payment details.
Our hosting provider — like any website, ordinary server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) are kept briefly for security and reliability, and are not linked to anything you type into the app.

Children

SwipeThisCard is not directed at children and is not meant for anyone under the age Apple’s own App Store terms require for holding a card of their own.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will be called out in the app’s release notes.
